Roman Day

In 3H, we have learned all about the eagle standards which were carried by legions in the Roman army. The eagle symbolised power and if the legion was defeated, the standard was taken from them and their power was lost.
We made our own eagle standards to represent our terrific teams. They are called the Rioting Reds, the Brilliant Blues, the Growling Greens, the Yellow Youngsters and the On Guard Oranges!

Our Bike Activity Day and Science Week...

We were very lucky on Thursday 18th March - we had a team of people come into our school with various styles of bikes. There were small penny farthings, a micro bike, tandems all sorts of bikes that we would probably never of had the opportunity to ride.  We had a fantastic morning on them!

Monday 22nd April was the start of science week.

Visit to the William Morris Gallery

Year 3 had the opportunity to visit the William Morris Gallery

We learnt about his life and saw his famous prints and designs with a focus on repeated patterns.

We were able to engage in the interactive activities that were available to us - we had a great time!

3H Class Work

In 3H, we have been looking at magnets and springs and conducted dome experiments to see if the size of a magnet affects its strength and which metals are magnetic.

In Literacy, we have been writing our own mummy adventure stories about children called Annie and Jack who get transported to Ancient Egypt.

Also to prepare for our British Museum Trip on the 30th january, we have been looking at mummification, artefacts and Howard Carter.

We are also busy working on our parents assembly on the 6th February - we hope 3H class parents will be able to come along and watch us!
